Invisalign® treatment is not only for teens and adults! Invisalign® First is designed specifically for small smiles. Starting orthodontic treatment early can help prevent issues from worsening later in life. Read on to see if Invisalign® treatment could be right for your child.
Invisalign® First is a series of clear aligners designed for children ages 7-10. This treatment works by gently aligning your child’s teeth and guiding the growth of the jaw and mouth to make room for developing teeth.
Invisalign® treatment is a great introduction to orthodontics because it is gentle yet effective. Because Invisalign® aligners are removable, your child won’t need to change their diet or oral hygiene routine during treatment.

How does Invisalign® First treatment work?
During your child’s appointment, we will use our 3D scanner to make an accurate model of their smile. Your child’s Specialist Orthodontist will then create a custom treatment plan and a series of aligners will be made.
Once you have the aligners, you will be instructed to switch out the aligners every couple of weeks from the comfort of your home. Each set of aligners is shaped slightly differently to gradually guide your child’s smile into alignment.
Find answers to some of the questions we are often asked about Invisalign® treatment for kids.
You may experience mild soreness during the first few days after switching to a new aligner, but in general Invisalign® treatment is not painful and the aligners are made to be gentle and comfortable.
Absolutely! It is even more important during treatment to maintain oral hygiene. We will instruct your child on proper brushing, flossing, and maintenance of their aligners.
Rarely! One of the great things about Invisalign® treatment is that you can switch to new aligners from the comfort of your home. As long as your child’s treatment is progressing as it should, you won’t need to come into our clinic often.
Please contact our team if an aligner goes missing. Most likely, we will advise you to revert to a previous set of aligners or begin your next set of aligners.
Every smile is unique, and sometimes orthodontic treatment is still necessary after Invisalign® First. Often any additional treatments needed are much less complicated thanks to early intervention.

Her research has been featured at international conferences, and she's a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a member of the AAO (American Association of Orthodontists) and CAO (Canadian Association of Orthodontists).
Dr. Moon is passionate about providing evidence-based, personalised care, with a special interest in digital orthodontics and clear aligner therapy. With a knack for spotting the little details that make a big difference, she loves helping patients achieve smiles they’re proud to show off.
During her time in Canada, Dr. Moon embraced the cold with skiing, chasing the northern lights, and surviving temperatures that could freeze your eyelashes. Now back in sunny Sydney, she’s swapped snow for sand and spends her time playing tennis, scuba diving, and enjoying life without five layers of clothing.
